CAMPO OURIQUE TERRASSE

Interior exterior continuity is one of the architectural topics that has been most explored in our work. The functionality, comfort and privacy of outdoor spaces has often limited their use. The pandemic dictated a new phase of exploration, enhancing the maximum expansion of human comfort at different times of the day.

It is in this context that this project is created. The rehabilitation of a cramped and delicately placed outdoor space in a residential block in Lisbon marked the beginning of conversations with customers who, among the identification of existing conditions, asked for the creation of a pizza oven. Each project is based on the development of the relationship with customers, and this is a particular case where this contact was comfortably used to expose the wishes and intentions of both parties.

The project maintained the division between levels, proposing the rehabilitation of the metallic stairs. In order to characterize the space and contribute to a better thermal sensation, on the lower level, color was used to demarcate the transition between the two levels. The highest level, in direct contact with the interior of the house, was maintained as a dining and outdoor living space, taking advantage of the expansion in order to gain space for an outdoor sofa. The pizza oven, barbecue area and outdoor meal preparation area were designed according to the customers' needs. The entire outer space is surrounded by a wooden structure that supports spaces for the planting of plant species, namely aromatic ones.
