Liberty Apartment – Modern Apartment Renovation in Braga

Rehabilitation projects are, at their core, an exercise in preservation and adaptation. They balance the preservation of existing architectural elements with the need to adapt buildings to meet modern living requirements and current regulatory standards.

In the case of the Liberty Apartment, the original interior layout presented challenges related to the orientation of social and private spaces. The existing design positioned the bedrooms toward the main avenue of the city, exposing these private spaces to urban noise, while the common and dining areas faced an indoor patio shared with neighboring buildings. This arrangement inverses the natural logic: social spaces should take advantage of the city views and natural light, while private spaces benefit from quieter, less exposed settings.

Our approach to this renovation focused on reorienting these spaces to optimize functionality and comfort. By aligning the social areas with the city's nobler views and transitioning the private spaces to quieter zones, the design achieves a harmonious balance between aesthetics, practicality, and well-being.
